Ag Tech Sensor Installation Complete for 2025 CSU-TAPS!

The CSU-TAPS team had all sensors installed by the first week of June, with the corn crop at V4 growth state. A total of 29 soil moisture probes (provided by AquaSpy, CropX, GroGuru, and Sentek) and 15 Arable weather sensors are located throughout the farm management competition field. Each of the 25 teams had a choice of what sensors to install in their competition plots.

Getting the sensors in the ground, hooked up, and calibrated has taken weeks of team effort, led by Omer Izrael, CSU-TAPS program manager, and Wub Yilma, precision irrigation manager, with help from CSU-TAPS student interns Aaron Cherry and Mason England.

A key part of the TAPS format is giving competitors a chance to try ag tech operationally and strategically, without risk. It’s a chance to shape ideas about the decisions, strategies, and ag tech they could apply at their home operations to enhance their own input use efficiency and profitability.

Many thanks to our ag tech partners for their involvement! Check out the 2025 CSU-TAPS ag tech options below.
